New streets, special art, pleasant encounters
Ansan International Street Drama Festival where we met

The Ansan International Street Theater Festival, which was first launched in 2005, is a cultural and artistic festival designed to revitalize the streets by utilizing Ansan's well-organized urban characteristics, as well as to give citizens joy and artistic impression of performances.

Ansan International Street Theater Festival, which strives to get closer to citizens through the freedom and easy accessibility of street theater performances, is a representative outdoor performing arts festival in Korea selected as an excellent culture and arts festival by Gyeonggi-do Province and festival magazines.

The Ansan International Street Drama Festival, which has met more than 700,000 audiences, now aims to become the hub of domestic street drama and the mecca of Asian street drama. I want to be reborn as a new art festival where I create and breathe with the audience, not as an art that feels difficult and is passively viewed.
Ansan City is attracting citizens' expectations by holding large-scale programs of the Ansan International Street Drama Festival (ASAF) as well as existing Children's Day celebrations with the whole family in 2025.

The 21st Ansan International Street Theatre Festival will be held from May 3-5

It is the 21st Ansan International Street Drama Festival. Held from May 3 to May 5 at Ansan Culture Plaza and surrounding streets, the festival consists of a total of 136 performances and experience programs. The Ansan International Street Drama Festival, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people every year, is the largest street performing arts festival in Korea, and a large number of famous street artists from home and abroad participate this year as well. In particular, this year, the festival has been equipped with customized spaces and programs for each class to create a space where citizens can breathe together

During the festival, special spaces for children are also notable. Various play facilities such as shelter in the forest: beds, splashing water playgrounds, fun-shaped long jingles, making festival hats, and floor painting graffiti boards have been installed so that children can run around freely, adding a kids parade, children's drama performances, and character parades to expand customized content for children.

Popular YouTube creator "Treasure Island," a program for teenagers and their families, will appear in person to host stand-up comedy and fan meetings, while street karaoke and random dance stages have set up a stage where citizens can freely perform their talents.

Street food booths in various countries are also operated, allowing for a unique food experience in an international atmosphere.

The closing performance on May 5 is raising expectations. Along with the massive magic show presented by world-renowned illusionist Lee Eun-gyeol, Ansan City will hold its first large-scale fireworks display, which will provide an unforgettable moment for citizens. Detailed schedule is available on the official website of the Ansan International Street Drama Festival (ansanfest.com ).

The 103rd Children's Day Festival, May 5th, Starlight Square Experience, Performance, and Play programs are abundant

Ansan City will hold a variety of festivals at Starlight Square (10 Gwangdeokseo-ro) to mark the 103rd Children's Day on May 5. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it is expected to present unforgettable memories to children as various programs such as experience zones, performance shows, photo zones, and play zones are prepared to welcome children and their families. There will be a photo zone full of laughter and an exciting play area throughout the venue, and various booths will also be operated for family visitors to enjoy together. In particular, this year's Children's Day event was actively participated by the Ansan City Children's Participation Committee in planning the program.

May with the whole family at various events

This year, Ansan City's Children's Day-related events range from large festivals to small-scale events centered on local communities. It is designed so that not only children but also teenagers and their families can enjoy and participate together. Ansan City said, "We are doing our best to prepare for a safe and enjoyable festival so that it can be a day for children and teenagers to develop dreams and hopes," and added, "We will spare no effort to help the whole family make precious memories in the warm weather of May."
